Simon studies “German, European and Global Politics” at the University of Bonn, Germany, and received a bachelor degree in “Cultural Studies” from the University of Koblenz, Germany. In 2010/11 he was awarded an Erasmus scholarship to study “Media and Cultural Science” at the University de la Lorraine, France. Prior to his studies, Simon volunteered with a homeless organisation in Cork (Ireland) for a period of twelve months. During his studies, he worked as a student assistant at the Konrad-Adenauer-Foundation and at the Center for Development Research (ZEF) at the University of Bonn. Simon also obtained work experience in the German parliament, where he interned at the Defence Committee and the Committee on Cultural and Media Affairs. During an internship with the German Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ), where he supported the division for human rights, Simon worked on the preparation of strategy talks and international workshops. Simon speaks German, English and has good basic knowledge of French.
