Carolina Albuquerque was born and raised Portugal but lived in the United Kingdom for seven years. She joined the Martens Centre in September 2018. Previously, she was a trainee at the European Parliament, where she worked for the EPP Group in the European Ideas Network. Prior to this, she completed a traineeship at the Spanish Embassy in London
Carolina obtained her Joint BA Honours in International Relations and Spanish at Westminster University in London, where she focused on gender inequality, education, geopolitics and demography. Carolina is generally interested in European affairs and policy. Apart from her native Portuguese, Carolina is fluent in English and Spanish, and is learning French and Dutch.
