Benjamin Meany joined the Martens Centre team in April 2017. Benjamin previously worked for the European Small Business Alliance and, before that, Irish TD Jerry Buttimer.
With a keen interest in politics and foreign policy for many years, Benjamin graduated from University College Cork, Ireland with a BA in European Studies. He also studied at Sciences-Po Aix, in Aix-en-Provence, France. Benjamin completed his MA in European Studies at KU Leuven, Belgium, where he specialised in EU external relations.
Benjamin has a strong interest in foreign policy and peace and conflict studies, particularly with regards to the Eurasian and MENA regions. His MA thesis was in the domain of effective post-conflict peacebuilding in Northern Ireland. Besides English, Benjamin speaks French and has a passive knowledge of Spanish.
