Andrea was born and raised in the province of Bergamo (Italy). He holds a Master degree in Russian and Eastern European Studies from the University of Glasgow as well as one in EU studies from the Jagiellonian University of Krakow. He joined the Martens Centre in May 2018. Prior to that, he worked for the EPP Group at the European Committee of the Regions and at the Italian Chamber of Commerce in Kyiv (Ukraine). Andrea’s professional interest include topics related to the EU neighbourhood policy such as economic development for stabilisation, youth entrepreneurship, democratization and city diplomacy. He is also passionate about innovation and e-democracy. Apart from his native Italian, Andrea is fluent in English and Spanish, has an intermediate knowledge of Russian and French and some notions of Ukrainian.
