Alexis Leenders joined the Martens Centre in January 2018. Prior to this, he interned with the political department of the Belgian Embassy in The Hague. During his studies, Alexis was president of the Christian Democrat Students in Ghent and was involved in Ghent’s student council. Currently, he is also engaged as secretary-general of Belgian Youth Diplomacy.
Alexis holds a master of laws degree in International Security from VU Amsterdam, as well as a master’s degree in International Politics and a bachelor in Political Science from Ghent University. He is fluent in Dutch, English, French and has notions of German. His topics of interest include security issues, international law and international development.
