Future of Europe: EU defence project a touchy subject

Eoin Drea, a senior researcher at the Wilfried Martens Centre for European Studies, a think tank linked to the centre-right European People’s Party, said the EU’s future defence plans are unlikely to threaten Irish neutrality.
“There is going to be a focus on lots of the not-so-sexy technical stuff like joint procurement, interoperability, mobility,” he said.
